Book Drive - Donate your favorite books! We need your help stocking the bookmobile for Banned Books Week pop-ups! Visit a participating bookstore to donate: Writer's Block Bookstore and Cafe 3956 Spenard Rd, Anchorage, AK Black Birch Books 2901 E Bogard Rd #104, Wasilla, AK Fireside Books 20 S Alaska St, Palmer, AK Each participating bookstore will have a designated collection bin Support your local booksellers and buy a book directly from them to donate! OR bring a copy of your favorite banned or challenged book to drop off Read out loud aboard the Banned Bookmobile! This October the Alaska Bookmobile is being transformed into a Banned Bookmobile and mobile recording studio in celebration of Banned Books Week 2023! Find us at a pop-up event in Anchorage or the Mat-Su for a live read-out and take home a banned book: 10/4/23 3-7pm @ Black Birch Books (Wasilla) 10/7/23 12-4PM @ Writer’s Block Bookstore (Anchorage) Hop on board and exercise the freedom to read by recording a passage from your favorite banned or challenged book. Recordings will be played over the radio on KONR-LP 106.1 FM (Out North Radio) and other local stations! |
