Día de Muertos in Times of COVID-19
Día de Muertos is a celebration that has been around more than 3,000 years, and in 2020, amid a pandemic, as democracy hangs by thread, and the world loses its footing on its concept of normality—Día de Muertos is alive and well.  Although the celebration will be different from other years in Anchorage, its heart beats strongly. LatinX of all generations will welcome their ancestors, and departed loved ones on November 1st and 2nd.   This year we have suspended the procession because the health of the community is a priority.
