NEWS // ADN interviews Scott Turner Schoefield
(ANCHORAGE, 2017) 10 years ago, a little theater show about one man's transition from female to male made a big splash by winning big support from the National Performance Network and the Princess Grace Foundation. The performance toured the US and Europe to critical acclaim. Now, the times have finally caught up with the content, and "Becoming a Man..." is in pre-production to become...a feature film in Hollywood.

Irreverent and dynamic, graceful and playful, "Becoming A Man In 127 EASY Steps" engages the deep questions and the locker room jokes about what it means to "become" a man. Moving beyond the transgender narrative that focuses on the experience of transition, 127 possible stories explore the drama and hilarity of living a new life in the "opposite" gender. "I changed my sex. Now what?!" The show's Choose Your Own Adventure format invites viewers to decide - live - which stories they will hear during each performance.

Join former Out North Artistic and Executive Director Scott Turner Schofield as he returns to Alaska, this time as "just an artist." Choose your own adventure through new stories from nearly 20 years deep in a transgender experience. Explore, in true Out North style, how to turn underground theatrical performance into a groundbreaking Hollywood movie experience.

This performance is presented by Out North and takes place at the Alaska Experience Theatre in downtown Anchorage.
